WoW Forever vs Classic
Classic replays 2004. Forever keeps that world and adds land, quests, dungeons, a race, and rulesets in place of a realm list.
Same shelf, different box
Both use a World of Warcraft subscription and a downloadable client, and both can sit on the same Battle.net account as separate versions. The old continents are still the spine. Forever's level cap at launch is 60, which is the number people associate with original Classic, but the quest log is not the old quest log.
Blizzard's launch post names Mount Hyjal, Shen'dralas, Riverglades, and Zephras Isle, plus more than a thousand new quests, nine five-player dungeons, and three raids on 9 December. Skyborne and six new race-class pairs are Forever-only. Classic still picks a realm. Forever picks Normal, PvP, Roleplay, or Roleplay-PvP, and Hardcore is promised later with no date.

Questions
Can I copy my Classic character in?
Blizzard has not published a transfer. I would not plan on one.
Is Forever just Season of Discovery?
No. Season of Discovery is a Classic ruleset. Forever is its own branch.
