Gold, without the black market
Earn gold from quests, drops, and crafting. Paying a third party for gold is the thing Blizzard told interviewers they will punish.
Legal gold and the line
I am not selling gold and I am not listing a seller. The public comment, via an 80.lv write-up of a developer Q&A, is that Blizzard had been too lenient on gold buyers and that a permanent ban is on the table. GDKP is described as banned. A Wowhead headline says that ban's reach may differ by region; I could not read the interview body, so the region split stays a headline, not a rule I will paraphrase into fake precision.
Inside the game, tailoring bags, gathering, and the auction house are the ordinary taps. I have no November gold-per-hour study. Anyone quoting one number is using a sample I have not seen. The camping system is a crafting sink, not a printer.

Questions
Can I trade gold for a carry?
GDKP-style payment is the practice the reports say is banned. Read the current forum sticky before you run one.
What is a safe farm?
Questing and selling bags. I will not name a hyperspawn I have not watched.
