Known issues and fixes
The Forever-specific pain at launch was layers and rulesets, not a single global outage. Horde PvP queues were the story several outlets repeated.
Layers and the ruleset message
Outpost's layering guide describes the world as instanced layers that refill by zone population. Joining a group can leave you on a different layer from your friends. A Wowhead headline from the launch week is specifically about phasing to see a new group. I could read the headline and not the full steps, so I will not invent a macro.
The message 'this rule set is temporarily unavailable' showed up in search demand. I do not have a Blizzard incident number for it. The practical public advice is to pick another ruleset or wait for the maintenance note, not to reinstall. Polygon's launch piece focused on Horde players stuck in PvP faction limits and queues.
| Issue | What I can say | Sources |
|---|---|---|
| Group on another layer | Reported at launch | 2 headlines |
| Ruleset unavailable | Seen in search, no incident id here | 1 demand note |
| Horde PvP queues | Reported by Polygon | 1 outlet |
Questions
Should I delete my WTF folder?
Not as a first step for a layer problem. Layers are a server-side split.
Is there a live bug tracker on this site?
No. I summarize posts with dates. Blizzard's own forums are the report channel.
