System requirements and the GPU floor

The official minimum is Windows 10, 8 GB RAM, a DirectX 12-capable 4 GB GPU and 128 GB of free SSD space. Blizzard also publishes a separate architecture cutoff.

Two different lines

The 17 September GPU post says AMD GCN 1 from 2012, NVIDIA Maxwell from 2014, and Intel Skylake from 2015 are the oldest architectures that still qualify. It names GTX 900 cards and the 750 Ti as compatible but still under a comfortable minimum, and it names GTX 760, 770, 780, 800M parts, and HD 6950 or HD 6000 as unsupported. That is the official cut.

Battle.net's current product table and Outpost's independent guide both list Windows 10 64-bit from the May 2019 update, a 4-core 3.0 GHz CPU, DirectX 12 with 4 GB, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB free on an SSD. The official minimum GPU examples are NVIDIA GTX 10 series, AMD RDNA 1 and Intel Iris Xe2-LPG Lunar Lake. The recommended row is Windows 11, an 8-performance-core CPU with 5.2 GHz boost, 8 GB GPU memory and 16 GB RAM. These minimum specifications are a higher tier than simply clearing the older architecture cutoff. The 128 GB figure is required free SSD space, not a published download size.

Questions

Is a GTX 1060 above the floor?

Pascal is newer than Maxwell, so it clears the architecture line. Blizzard did not publish a frame-rate row for that exact card.

Does the Mac mini M1 count?

The official product table and Outpost list M2 and 9th-generation Intel at the minimum, with M1 unlisted. See the Mac page for the complete Mac rows.
