Name reservation rules and fixes
Early name reservation is over. The rules that still matter are the two-part name, the three-character cap, and which purchase unlocked the window.
Who could reserve, and why a name failed
Europe opened 27 October 2026 at 18:00 CET, North America the same day at 13:00 PDT, and Korea and Taiwan on 28 October at 07:00. The Americas and Europe closed on 3 November; Korea and Taiwan closed on 4 November. A subscription alone was not enough. The account needed Skyborne Heroic, Epic, the Collection, or the Collector's Edition. Three characters was the cap across every ruleset.
Each character has a primary name and a secondary name. Only the full pair must be unique in the region. Failures I would still expect, from the Outpost write-up, are a taken pair, a filtered word, the wrong region, a missing purchase, or the Forever version not installed. Blizzard acknowledged an over-strict filter and said a restart would loosen it. I do not have the word list.

Questions
Were beta characters kept?
Pressure-test characters were wiped. Whether beta characters survived to launch is not confirmed in the posts I used, so I do not claim either outcome.
Can I reserve a name today?
The early window is closed. You create the name when you make the character, under the same two-part rule.
