Is WoW Forever worth playing?
It is worth opening if you want the old pace plus new zones. It is a miss if you want modern dungeons, flying, or a console.
Who it suits
The launch write-ups I could read describe a calmer opening day than recent World of Warcraft launches, with short queues and some stutter rather than a day-long outage. Blizzard Watch's first-day column also says the branch is not for everyone. I take that as a fit warning, not a score.
You are close to the target if you like running the old world, grouping for dungeons, and reading quest text. You are far from it if your week is modern raids, Mythic Plus, housing, or a controller on a PlayStation or Xbox. Horde players who want PvP should read the faction-limit note on the PvP page before they pick a ruleset.

Questions
Is there an official score?
No. I do not invent a Metacritic number or a concurrent-player figure.
Was launch day smooth?
Several outlets said yes, with Horde PvP called out as the exception. Read those pieces; the pages were partly truncated when I opened them.
