Classic and Enhanced are presets

Classic and Enhanced are experience presets you pick at first login. They change default graphics and interface options, not the ruleset and not the content.

Six defaults, all reversible

The Classic preset starts you on standard-definition models, with quest points of interest and the objective circle off, single-bag view off, transmog off, the older camera keys, and the classic interface layout. Enhanced flips those: high-definition models, quest markers on, single bag, transmog on, strafe keys, and a centered layout.

None of that is locked. Game Menu, then Options, can change each switch. Character creation can also pick HD or SD models on its own, and that choice is cosmetic. People searching classic vs enhanced are often asking which edition to buy. This is not that purchase.

Questions

Does the preset change difficulty?

No. Rulesets are a different menu. The preset does not pick Normal, PvP, or Roleplay.

Can I mix the options later?

Yes. The starter guide says the defaults are only a starting point.
