Mage
Mage changes, specs, and races
Orcs can be mages. Arcane, Fire, and Frost keep their trees, with Frostfire Bolt and a reworked Arcane Blast in the notes.
Three schools and a new race
The deep dive covers the class fantasy: Arcane for mana tempo, Fire for combustion, Frost for control. Outpost dates Frostfire Bolt as a 40-point talent, Frost Blast at 24, Arcane Blast rebuilt rather than copied from later expansions, and Ice Lance hitting for 200 percent in the situation that guide describes. A 15 October beta note is the date on the entity file for Frost Blast's arrival. I will not collapse those into 'mages are overpowered' because I have no raid logs.
Orc mage is the new pairing. Humans, gnomes, undead, and trolls stay on the older list. If you only want a PvE school, the guides lean on the same three trees and do not declare a single winner for the dungeons that are already open. The class overview characterizes Mage as fragile, ranged spell damage with strong crowd control; it is not a tank or melee option. The class guide's October 15 beta summary names Frost Blast at level 24, Frostfire Bolt at level 40, and a redesigned Arcane Blast. Frostfire Bolt bridges Fire and Frost talents, while Arcane Blast stacks are temporary and build from repeated casts. Treat these as dated ability descriptions, not a claim that a spec leads current raid parses.

Questions
Which tree for dungeons?
All three are in the deep dive. I will not name a dungeon winner without logs.
Do orcs get a mage-only racial?
They get the orc racials plus the mage class. I have no extra mage-only orc spell in the posts.
